Chat uses trusted upstream USD cost when available; otherwise it uses catalog rates and usage, then applies markup and the MA/USD rate. Missing usage may require local estimation. usage is metering information, not a complete pricing formula for every model.

Do not price images, video, speech and transcription uniformly per million tokens. Use model-specific units and tiers as references; actual settlement depends on trusted cost and the ledger. Missing rates do not mean free or guarantee a precise quote before calling.
Streaming usage
A completed stream with an upstream report has a usage chunk. Missing reports or interruptions may require estimates. Not receiving the final chunk does not imply a zero charge.
